Waste hauling is an essential business so we are able to provide our container swap service. We’ve modified it to protect our customers and our team. We service a large area of Chicagoland that can be best understood by looking at the service area map on our website.
Collective Resource Compost educates and provides services to residents, restaurants, schools, businesses and faith communities to help reduce their landfill use through composting. They use a container-swap method to provide door-to-door pickup of food scraps and other compostables that are processed at a commercial composting facility in Chicago.
Erlene Howard started Collective Resource Compost in June 2010. With a background in business administration and growing many companies over her business career, her life brought her to this green mission. In wanting to eat better, she learned about eating closer to the source, and then realized she had all these great resources leftover to compost. Being a condo dweller and not having a place that would work for a compost bin, she went about looking for a solution. The idea of helping other people compost came from an entrepreneurial spirit and a nature-loving heart.
Since its inception, CRI has grown to serve 2200 customers. Please see our website www.collectiveresource.us for more of our success stories.
Our mission is to make it easy and possible for everyone to compost.
